Store Openings!

Bulgari Boutique - Atlanta, Georgia

Omega Boutique - Fifth Ave, NYC

They are hectic, but store openings are my favorite!

2008 - Bulgari

My first assignment! Create custom props for these beautiful vintage snake watches for the National Bored Review Awards at Cipriani!

Window display - Fifth Ave.

Custom jewelry and watch trays for special viewings, events and corporate sales. I was able to take different elements and functions of their current props and create a more functional use.  I found a great vendor and worked with him to create these trays.

Visual Retailing Program

One of the coolest programs I have ever used, Visual Retailing.  We were able to create and design a retail store from the bottom up.  We selected the fixtures, clothes, created logos, etc.  You could import images or take photographs of the clothes and alter them to be stacks of clothing, hanging or have them dressed on a mannequin.

My sophomore year I created Byrd, a female clothing store that offered whimsical and dainty clothes, ( I worked at Anthropologie at the time :), so I was heavily influenced with the beauty of their brand).  The images on the wall were of outdoor scenery and changed per season and a metal bird cage structure created a warm and inviting atmosphere.

My second store Tee, a golf store, was created my senior year where we learned how to build our own fixtures in the program.  I altered familiar fixtures to use a club stands and nested tables to create T shapes.

2008 Puppy Merchandising

My senior year at LIM we were asked to select a brand and create a clever puppy mannequin for dog merchandise.  I selected Ralph Lauren since it had such a strong brand image.  Nathaniel Archebolt was my creation.

I had a blast layering paint to create a wood finish and created his attire with silk ribbon.  My final touch? A carved RL - a little tracing trick I learned at Fishes Eddy.

2007 - Fusion Cafe: Visual Presentation 2

It was this class that I fell in love with the production aspect of visual merchandising.  I worked with three other students and our professor to design the elements of a restaurant, from the architectural materials, waitress uniforms, table top settings to the menus.

As difficult as it was to learn draping, striking a mannequin and sewing, it was worth it.  I learned how to push my limits and think outside the box.  I lived at LIM during this semester (they even turned off all the lights and locked us inside), but the display was apart of the ribbon cutting for the 45th Street location which was the most rewarding.

My favorite part was building the cobble stone floors with insulation board, a hot glue gun and sand paper!
